Efficient de-capping/de-priming

+1 on the Forester Coax. If you set up the cases right, you just short stoke the Coax. I doubt anything could be any/much faster.
Ben

Try a 650 with a case feeder sometime. It literally de-primes as fast as you can pull the handle. 1000/hour is not hard. You only have to stop to dump more brass in the hopper, and when your arm gets tired.

I use the Redding decapping die with my Forester Coax press just have to make sure that the pin lines up with the primer flash hole first.

Top left is a Simmons for 32-40, no longer made. Top right, CPA for 25-20, still being made,

Bottom right is a Meacham for 40-65, no longer made. Bottom left is a N Jones with interchangeable caliber rods. It is quite old and very well used for thousands of cases. It is made of aluminum and as you can see will bend with hard to remove primers. The others are all steel.

You need to fish around for the flash hole with all of them except the Meachem. The rod barely goes into the case mouth and I have never had to fish around for the flash hole with it. The closer the rod is to the diameter of the case mouth the easier it is to hit the flash hole.

Guess I need a little practice in uploading pictures.

Very cool thx for the pics. Neat looking classic tools. My conclusion is leaning towards continuing to use the press for bulk military 556 and changing my order of things to f/l size and decap in the same process and thus the decapping part becomes a freebie. And then the hand tool dilemma becomes mute.
I have never bought casings by the sack before so got a little learning to do to get up to speed!

i decap 100 once fired lc per 5 min. swaging primer pockets takes 6min. per 100 use a lee classic turret press and decaping die with a cass kicker i designed for depriming and/or resizing. for swaging i use a rocker with a trouth that the cases slide down into a container when there stripped off the swag. when you only have to put the case in the shell holder or into the swag as fast as you want it goes at least twice as fast with less effert. it call me at 208-882-8963 6:00 to 8:00 pm if you want to make them or buy them.

why dont you post a video of your inventions?

I have been using a LEE universal de-capping die for a few years and it works just fine for me , both large primers and small.

I use a cheap Lee hand press (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NOQIFO/?tag=accuratescom-20) and Lee universal decapper. If you already have case holders and the decapper, its just ~$35 for the hand press and you can work anywhere around the house. I did around 800 223 cases the other night (can't recall how long it took, but no more than 2 hours at most).

Better than the Harvey, it captures the ejected primer and junk in a well in the press. The only down side is that the press only holds so many (maybe 25 SRP and 20 LRP) before it clogs up, so you need to dump the primers fairly often. But is is quick and easy to do and do anywhere.

I just began processing a batch of 1000 LC 223 nato last night and it wasnt stimulating again! I have a dillon swager set up with dual ejection spring assists and that baby works like a charm but I am not going to sit at my coax press and de-cap 1000 cases in a row again because there has to be a more pleasant way to do it. I am not too impressed with the run of the mill hand decappers so far...either too big or too many movements..lee frankford etc

However there are some other ones out there all taken off an original patent that I wouldnt mind trying but I doubt they are returnable so wondering if anyone had any experiences with Meachum/Pope style? Distant Thunder? Baco/SLM? Harvey?

Thx
