Effects of covid on hunting?

I don't know if you could credit Covid for this, but a face mask is the MOST important piece of cammo that you can use to hide yourself form most critters.

I learned years ago that when calling coyotes, we could pretty much toss all the fancy cammo clothing, and wear our face/head nets. jd

Spot on. One of the first aha! moments I got while hunting. It was 1963. Not many bowhunters back then. Maybe have a WW2/Korea jacket from Arnie's Surplus or just a plaid shirt. Face camo was burnt cork rubbed on your face. My buddies dad was a bowhunter and once in while would take us two nubs with him hunting. We would drive about an hour up North to Price County. We were running late this particular day. Failed to do the burnt cork. My buddies dad was across the field from me on the East side also in a makeshift ground blind as tree stands were not yet legal. You sat on a folding chair. The sun was setting and my buds dad's face was glowing like a spotlight. Any movement he made was like a light house. Deer came out and guess what. Didn't stay long shall we say. While we were walking out I told him what I observed and maybe we should have done the cork stuff. Should have kept my mouth shut. "Well, goldammit, let that be a lesson for ya, don't get in a goldang hurry." Luckily he did take me with them again.

For hunting this year, when I drive back to Wisconsin I will be camping vice the hotel/motel deal. Bow season only this year, head back before the below zero crap kicks in and camping becomes problematic. Probably should get off the snide and fix up my old Minnie Winnie.
I hunt public land in Northern WI. Not much pressure where I hunt, even during gun season. Only saw two guys other than our bunch in the woods all last gun season, none during bow season.

Just came back from Mt pd hunt. 2 towns not shot at at all and 1 at least 2 days every week since June. A lot of people not working with nothing else to do.
