Effect of Fluting on Barrel Harmonics

Removing metal does not make it more rigid , fluting as done now is for looks only
You've completely missed key attributes of fluting:
Fluting can provide for lighter barrel, or a more rigid barrel w/resp to another(non-fluted) of the same weight.
Fluting is not always just for looks.

I'm about to have a 1.3" bull barrel heavily fluted, because I want a 1.3" bull that weighs no more, and is stiffer, than a heavy palma of the same length.

Agreed , but modern ornamental fluting removes little weight .
Cutting it to a shorter length would also make it more rigid . But I know I know , you may sacrifice some vel.

Fluted button rifled barrels might not act like cut rifled barrels do during long strings of fire as the barrel heats up.
