educate me on two different chambers in 223

can you explain the difference between 223 Ackley chamber and the 223 ISSF chamber ? What grain bullets will each shoot and is one more accurate than the other ?

223 ISSF is a 223 with 169 freebore. Good for up 90 grain bullets.

223 Ackley is a 40 degree shoulder and holds about 1.5 grains more powder. 60 freebore. Good for everything from 50 to 80 grain bullets.

For that I would go with a Wylde chamber.

With the ackley you have to fire form the case which is not as hard as it sounds but the trade off is less trimming and I size every Third firing instead of every firing….plus you get a couple hundred feet per second more speed, but you may Not get as many firings per case, also some matches are set up for .223 like fclass And ackley scores won’t count….so it depends on what you want to do….
