Economy Shipping Shortcomings

I placed an order on Brownells website. Chose the economy shipping, as the estimated delivery date was only 1 day difference. Now comes the fiasco. I live in southern Indiana, the package left Iowa and went to Indianapolis, then too Elizabethtown, Ky, then on to Mississippi. I hope it receives frequent flyer miles.

I try and avoid the economy shipping choice. It usually means going by UPS who then hands it over to USPS near the destination. For me it means that I have to go and drive to the PO to pick up the package if it doesn't fit in a mailbox which is the usual case. Just better for me to pay extra to avoid the hassle.

I lost 200 Bergers to Surepost last year, someone suggested always buying a small box of .22 so they can't switch it to SP. I forgot to do that last week.

At least you were able to "track" your pkg. All I got after my order from Bullets Central left the facility in S.D. was "DELAYED IN TRANSIT" , till it arrived at my door two weeks later . Hell ; I could have driven to S.D. , and back to Phx. in half that time . But my 500 OTM's did arrive .

I watched a video recently where a guy ordered two T-shirts; one from Finland, and one from Florida. The outfit in FL shipped it immediately by 2d day Priority USPS. The outfit in Finland waited a few days, and shipped theirs by standard shipping through DHL. The two packages arrived on the same day. It took over a week for the 2-day USPS package to arrive, and it traveled across the country twice. And people wonder why the USPS is broke...

There is not much reason to have a tracking # when the package gets handed off to USPS a lot of times, you wonder where the package is, and then, it's in the mail box or on the front porch.

Not sure what the USPS did to end the 'going postal' problem but their service sure went downhill at about the same time.
