Eclipse!!

My oldest lives in Commerce TX, right in the path. I told her to at least get welding helmet replacement glass so she could look at it. It's pretty cool to watch. The pulsing light freaked my dogs out when it hit Oregon about 7 years ago.

It was something to see, the last eclipse but I wouldn't pay to park anywhere. It truly is something that should be experienced at least once, though.

Agree. . . it's a great experience that I think anyone would relish.

I've experience many partials, but only one really "total" solar eclipse. It was on a military golf course at Savannah, GA in 1970 while I was about to hit a tee shot on a little par 3 hole and I thought a cloud was shading the sun as I got ready to hit the shot. I and the guys I was with hadn't heard any news about there being any eclipse on its way. So, to our surprise, as we looked up, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and we could see a good part of the sun already being covered (no, we weren't staring at it, just glanced at it as we looked for the reason for the dimming of daylight). In a short time, just a couple minutes, it became fully dark just like nighttime where stars shown brightly against the black sky and nighttime creature sounds came out and were very auditable, even the temperature dropped making it feel a bit too cool. It was like that for just a short time of course, but it gave us all an eerie and awesome feeling. . . especially since it was something none of us was expecting. It was truly an unforgettable experience that I savour.

Technically, if you look at a small enough portion of the earth, the ground is flat, if not, then why would we ever need levels, lol.

HEY ! Watch it ! Woodstock is one of my favorite memories , just before I began my extended Vacation in S.E. Asia . And a really , really good time was had by most all !

Ha! Every summer, we’d go to the Catskills to help my Grandparents run their boat rental business on Lake Huntington. As soon as we got there, Dad would march me and my brother over to the barber for our summer crew cut. I remember that summer and my Dad going nuts about the “hippies” skinny dipping off our docks at night. My brother and I wanted to sneak away and hike over to see what was going on!
