It's on the way out for us here, we had about 90% according to the news. For me it's one of the coolest things about living on earth because it's one of those things that no matter who you are, where you are or what you believe for that brief moment we're all focussing on the same thing.

I’m almost dead center for it. The dogs are acting weird. Should I run around the yard naked? There’s been a flood of lunies flooding into town to see it. Plenty of pics on the net I won’t go blind looking at. Big whoop!
I have work to do!

Wife dug out those cool looking glasses from the 2017 eclipse :cool:and we watched it in between the passing clouds. She said we would be able to see about 40% or so, and I guessed we saw about 33% of the sun blocked out by the shadow, looks like a big ole' "pac man" to me.

Yup. I saw the same thing today and it's the second time I've seen that as the last time was back in 2011. . . a pretty cool phenomenon.

In 1970, while playing golf at my Army base's course in Georgia, I experienced a total solar eclipse. I was on a short par-3 and I thought a cloud was dimming the sunlight as I was just about to tee off. No one in my foursome had any idea there was going to be an eclipse. It got darker and darker until it was quite dark and the stars became visible and shown brightly and crickets and other night time creature sounds came out. It was an awesome experience to see it grow so dark so fast and then become fully daylight again. . . especially when it wasn't expected, just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

Hey Bro , please dont post the picture of you running around in your back yard.....hehehehehe

Here's a collage of Eclipse photos taken through a 780nm IR filter.
Notice the sun spot. There's another smaller one that shows up at different brightness setting.
