Easy way to take off stubborn barrels.

Ohhh, and I have every brand I know of of inside-the-raceway locking lug abutment style wrench. I've bent them all.

I simply do not believe one can exert 600 ftlb on an inside wrench without twisting it like a pretzel. I've never seen one go much over 100ftlb without twisting.

Reusing factory barrels;

We used to,cough,cough get motorcycle sportbikes tyres from local dealers take off piles. These tyres had the centers gone BUT,the edges were as new.We'd mount'm up,run them at race pressures and get a weekend's worth of hooya's out of them,dragging knees.

So,some folks may not know how to get certain parts to function in the extreme but be careful lumping everybody in the same pile.

40 years ago I would scrounge pairs of tires behind the big box tire shop And take them to a gas station 5 miles down the road and sell them for 10- 15 bucks a peace. All on the way home.

51 years ago, when I got a flat tire on my car, I would role the flat to the nearest gas station, find better tire in the recycling behind the station, and try to get them to change the tire for $1. They mostly wanted $2.50, but I talked them down. When I started rebarreling 17 years ago, I bought take off barrels from Ebay. I found the Rem 700 take offs put on a $50 Turkish Mauser were the most likely to shoot a 1" 3 shot group at 100 yards. I bought 8 Bartlein barrels this year. I have move up the food chain.
