I had a similar problem with my 284 that was driving me crazy. I finally got a Redding small base sizer this week and the problem is gone. It only drops the last 1/4" of the case maybe .001 but that is enough.

Most likely. I had the same problem with a Savage Target Action on my 6mm BR. The bolt was easy to open, but I couldn't pull it back because the cam didn't break the case loose from the chamber on brass which had been fired several times.

The good news is that with a Savage, you can fix the problem yourself if you have a drill press and Google.
