East TN ranges

Just a plug for Oak Ridge. Here is the view from the 1k line one Saturday morning before a match.

Oh, and if you happen to be a sling shooter at Oak Ridge you will regularly get to shoot with at least 2 Wimbledon Cup winners (multiple wins), A Leach cup winner, and a National Champion. (more than once I believe), a Palma 100 or two, and I'm pretty sure there is a Palma 20 in the bunch. Shooting high power at Oak Ridge you routinely get to shoot with some of the best in the US.

Then there is the Big Ed's service rifle matches that the AMU has a tendency to drop in for. Those of us who shoot F class have been known to represent pretty well too.

(I moved away this yr, and it's killing me :( )

Well i know that they are still doing the indoor to outdoor benchrest.. .22 rimfire. Kettlefoot is also holding the National Championship in rimfire benchrest i understand this weekend too.. i will try to get some pics if i can

I grew up with the Oak Ridge Sportsmans Association range(s) and hence had a false impression - I thought every gun club had a 1000 yard range, lol. It's a great facility in a fine area.

Hello, anybody in East Tennessee (Johnson City) have property or a private range that I could just true my data out to 1000y. I would gladly pay for the opportunity. Please PM me if you have a place even out to 800y.

Thanks.

Why not move to west Tenn . One of my river bottom fields is 2 miles long . No hills to mess with
Hey HikFromStik, I don't disagree, sounds very nice. There are plenty of "point-to-point" safe shots here in the hills, just need permission! Can't say I blame folks for not wanting people shooting on property, but many shoot and just keep it closed to friends. I'm looking for one of those kind of friends. :)

We usually shoot on Saturday afternoons . I have my "group" of friends that I trust . Nowadays some people are litigious and if they stump their toe they will sue if on someone else's property. I would be open if the right person that had exceptional experience in proper firearm use moved here ,but I would have to have a pre shooting session meeting first .
