Dang!! You guys are a pretty tough crowd. "Can't we all just get along??" RK
OMG! you and STS are cracking me up... lol. Aside from the comedy, those are some good neck shots!!We played "SWAT" when we were kids, we threw dirt clods at each other. Extra points if you hit some poor sob in the neck!!![]()
Far from a Red Ryder! Nice setup! And then the Rock Chuck division of the Taliban decided to attack. I, of course, felt compelled to defend my position. I refer to this one as my “patented high neck shot.” 335 yards with my .177 Daisy Red Rider.

Dude you're hilarious a 17 Hornet never splatters if you know where to shoot. You really need to quit spreading misinformation, fairy tales, lies to those who don't know, now with your shooting skills,I can see splashes, but not with mine. Give the upcoming guys a break,a 17 Hornet at ranges it was designed for out to 250 yards will absolutely not splash, hundreds to it's testament of being a deadly coyote round.Well you must of slept in class. A coyotes hide is the thickest in chest as well as the neck and why you getting splatters with a light bullet as its too sensitive for the job. Frontal chest shots can be taken but you need a bullet that's not going to frag on impact. You use no such bullet and thus mixed results you are getting. The neck and chest also has the most muscle mass so you need a bullet that can get past the thick hide and dump all its energy inside that large mass of muscle. You don't have such thing. LOL
Other problem is your bullet cannot be used around rib-cage area as it will break apart soon as it hits bone, that's how useless it is. splatter/splash away...
LOL now I know your as bogus as a 3 dollar bill, nothng to see17 Hornet was not designed or meant for coyote size game. It was meant for ground squirrels and such and the 20 gr. bullets you use splash on coyotes that's why you won't flip one over for a looksee.

The only time a V-Max splashes is operator error, aka improper shot placement. A V-Max easily blasts through ribs, spine, neck vertebrae, head, frontal chest, not a shot in the leg bone can splash, and the coyote runs off. Hornady just randomly decided to make a round that would splash on coyote-sized game and ruin their reputation? I don't think so ,oftentimes a V-max can be found lodged under the skin on a complete pass through, after liquefying the boiler room. Newcomers don't feed into this misinformation which is only fueled by those who don't like what I have to say. Pictures later to reinforce my statements. Work beckons time to roll this black and white thing.17 Hornet was not designed or meant for coyote size game. If you think I'm paying you patent royalties too, you can forget about it. I'm thinking I might have to take out a home equity loan to pay up on all my neck shots. Not quite sure if this is some good old fahioned tongue in cheek joking or if some guys are just a little irritable bowelish this week? Either way, I am happy to see that the OP didn't head shoot, cause that is MY patented shot, apparently. Snert
Patent infringement imminent,17 hornet, the neck vertebrae severed looked for a splash none apparent, ROFLMAO, head shot, next picture entry left side,22 subsonic suppressed Tikka T1X 125 yards,DRT.If you think I'm paying you patent royalties too, you can forget about it. Yea, but have you guys had the super secret “elite training”?If you think I'm paying you patent royalties too, you can forget about it. I'm thinking I might have to take out a home equity loan to pay up on all my neck shots.
I can neither affirm or deny, Mr. Congressman...Yea, but have you guys had the super secret “elite training”?![]()
It's not super elite, but it takes some doing. One error and you're off the team. Vicarious liability issues. Apply yourself, and anyone can do it. Most who fail initially didn't listen and apply themselves. A fantastic experience, especially when working with the US Marshals violent fugitive apprehension unit, great memories, and the training helped me to become more adept at varmint eradication.Yea, but have you guys had the super secret “elite training”?![]()
I had a friend who was one of those super secret sniper types, at least that was his cover. I think he was really a ninja of some type that was always someplace where no one ever admitted to going. Anyway…..I can neither affirm or deny, Mr. Congressman...
Nice hide on that one. Do you save all your skulls, or just a few for European?Patent infringement imminent,17 hornet, the neck vertebrae severed looked for a splash none apparent, ROFLMAO, head shot, next picture entry left side,22 subsonic suppressed Tikka T1X 125 yards,DRT.
You missed your calling as a CNN reporter.I had a friend who was one of those super secret sniper types, at least that was his cover. I think he was really a ninja of some type that was always someplace where no one ever admitted to going. Anyway…..
When we shot together the targets were always washers hung from string out in the trees. Nice guy, but a trained assassin. He let me shoot the washer while he sent his bullets through the center. Since I couldn’t do that, it made me feel better about myself. To actually know I hit something.
The ninja part came in because he was able to slide a 30 caliber bullet through a 1/4” washer. He could actually shoot someone and not leave a trace. His targets never bled, most were written up as cause of death being heart failure because of no external bleeding but the body cavity was full inside
When he got too old and the skill set started to fail, he retired and started trolling shooting forums.
