E C Tuner machining question

Hi
Need some info on machining the 850-24 threads for the tuner. I am thinking about buying one and getting my ducks in a row.
I have seen a print and my question is would the threads need to be all the way against the shoulder or would a .090 relief cut (square grooving tool) work? My tool with out a relief cut method can only get .090 or so from the shoulder anyway.

Does the tuner have a counterbore? If so and if it's deep enough, you should be good without a relief cut.

I watched the video and can’t tell how close the threads are to the shoulder.
The print doesn’t have a thread ending dimension. Maybe doesn’t matter?

Don’t overthink it. You will be just fine with a relief. For what it’s worth, the EC tuners that I’ve installed have had a relief in them as well.

It has a .100” thread relief built into the tuner. So as long as you stay less than .100” from shoulder you don’t need a thread relief.

So end the threads a .100 away from the shoulder!
And just order from your web sight

I usually end my threads about 0.030” - 0.050” from shoulder

I would sure like a picture of the tool set up you’re using to get that close to a shoulder.I-Use inserts and definitely can’t get in that tight.

It's just a regular lay down threading bar. Iscar I think it is. Nothing special.

When threading the barrel do you need to indicate off the rifling in a 4 jaw or would using the 3 jaw
be good enough for this application?
