Nicest day in a really long time here. Took my 20-222 out for a few shots just to relax. Havent shot the rifle since last fall. I learned a few things. Decided to try a few different holds on the gun and change bag position. Just wanted to see. Also had a ton of mirage for some reason, it was bad enough to make me put some paper over the scope so I cld see better. First firing on the Winchester brass. Loaded the shells last year. Started left to right and I was a little rusty, 1” orange stickers. 5 shot groups. First 3 groups I just held the rear grip of gun w front rest like 6” back from forend. 4th group I put a paper sunshade on the Nikon and mad that made a difference aiming. Last and 5th group I put the front rest to the front of the stock and held the forend down w paper shade. No wind flags, just shot 5. Wo. Had the dam 3” bag on the front rest which is dam sloppy as hell on the HBR stock. Didn’t have time. Just wanted to shoot. Just wanted to share. What do you guys use for a mirage shade? I gotta come up w something. I need a different target. Hope you like my 788 20-222. Load for all was 20.5grs H4198 32gr Sierra BK
