durocoat a scope

will durocoating a bushnell elite 4200 damage this scope? how long will the durocoat last? thanks.

I don't think Duracoat will hurt the scope. Duracoat is thin and dries very quickly and applied correctly doesn't run or tend to build up. On surfaces that have been prepared well,degreased) Duracoat will adhere and hold up very well.

In fact, you will have difficulty removing Duracoat once it cures. Many people use Krylon knowing they can use a paint thinner / remover and get most of the paint off if needed. Duracoat does not easily dissolve after it dries, it is pretty resistant to oil and cleaning fluids.
