Duracoat compatability over a textured base finish?

Anybody successfully used any textured finishes as a base coat before applying Duracoat?

I want to produce a final textured surface similar to the textured surface of an HS stock. I'm concerned with Duracoat attacking a textured base coat. The Duracoat people can't advise what textured product I might use, but only provided a word of caution about Duracoat possibly melting and ruining it.

I have used acraglass gel many times. thin it down, put a even coat down, texture with gloved hand, pot scrubber, anything. Paint with duracoat, clearcoat with flat automotive clear.

Or, you could simply bead blast the surface w/ Aluminum oxide abrasive. Use a coarse grit for a more deeply eroded surface.

Gotcha;
I assume you're thinking that I'm starting with a glass/compostion stock.....but it's a wood stock that I'm working with. I don't think sand blasting that would work. ( I've never tried sand blasting wood and don't know if it sands the surface down or actually would leave the desired fine dimpled effect ....hmmm?)

MLC,
As for using Acraglas.......it never dawned on me that I could use that or Devcon 10110 bedding compound or JB Weld compound and thin it down a little. (with laqur thinner or acetone?) Then I can apply it with a fine roller. Both those substances have a nice long 45+ minute drying time too!
