Duplicate a benchrest stock

As far as duplicating a stock, wouldn't it be as straight as the pattern?
Providing bit is sharp, and the size of bit is steeped down to a finer/smaller bit for finishing.
Least ways that's what I noticed watching my brother make a set of guitar necks.
He does the face of guitar body on CnC machine though.

Thanks for the reply, that's why I bought a lathe and a mill. I'll let the woodworking up to my friend jghoghunter. What he has done for me has been fantastic.

My wife can't get me to do anything woodworking related, lol
