DUMMY PROOF APP ?

I've got both Shooter and Strelo Pro.. I know folks like Strekok - but for some reason I just cannot get to a point where it feels easy to use. It always has felt kind of klunky to use. Shooter seems much more intuitive.

Not sure if results are comparable between the two. I kind of want to align with Strelok - as so many people speak so highly of it.

Here’s a suggestion from a non competition, rank amateur. I down loaded Hornady’s free app. It has two options, 4 Degrees of Freedom and a simple BC calculator. Allows you to enter and save several different rifle, load and environmental data. Once entered, you choose which data set from your favorites and you get a screen to scroll range, wind direction and speed. The 4DOF requires time and a masters in physics, math or statistics. The BC is good for minimal gray matter like mine. Probably not for shooting sub MOA at big boy ranges but works fine for prairie dogs and most North American game. Before hunting, I shoot 200 and 300 with initial adjustment from the calculator then make a card with my actual final adjustment. If my velocity input is accurate, there isn’t much delta.

Just an old dumb non electronic guy. I prefer to go to the range and see what really happens.

The point behind these apps is to be used in conjunction with actual measured data to quickly and accurately give a firing solution. I tune the data in my app to match my measured data, including velocity, BC, and turrets as well as using multi-BC when I have it. It saves time by getting on target in less shots.

Shooter

If anyone has any questions on how to access any functions in Strelok I will be more than happy to do more screen grab tutorials and try to explain certain features as best I can. Also, I use an Android phone and the GUI is slightly different on an apple, but I have experience with the same program on apple and can help, but 99% of things are the same.

Thanks Bro for your help. I'm going to study the details u placed above and see if I can figure this thing out. I'm sure with time I will be able to use it. Just alittle slow at computer stuff especially on my phone. Not a fan of the tiny screen.

I’ve got at least a dozen of the popular apps including Strelok Pro and Shooter. Of the two, Shooter is easiest to navigate and a little more intuitive for the new shooter. All of the apps will give shooting solutions within 0.1-0.2 MIL at 1000 yards as long as your inputs are good. PM me if you’d like more info about the various programs

I’ve always been very satisfied with Ballistic (Advanced Edition)....I don’t think it cost more than $10 if that.

Very easy to use and delivers results that work for me shooting 300 and 600 yard bench rest.

I believe it comes in IOS for iPhone only...no android.

Something else to consider, is maybe ask some of your shooting partners what/if they are using. If you have some people close by using the same app, that can help. I have been using Strelok for a long time and when my dad finally got a smart phone I had him get the same app so I could walk him through it step by step.
