Drop tube substitute.

Pull my finger
I have been trying to get my 22 Hornet cases loaded with Lil Gun for quite some time now. I get er dun but my pet load fills the case up. I have a drop tube setup but the funnel end that sits on the case just isn't quite the right size.. So I soldier on in spite of myself.. I have been tapping on the side of the case to settle the powder. Works OK but a PTA.. I was out in my garage and noticed mt old tool engraver. You know the kind that vibrates.. So i take it down to my loading room and it works like a charm. Pour in the powder, place my finger over the case mouth and vibrate for a few seconds . Use the side not the point. Powder settles ~ 1/4".. Perfect.

Now to figure out how to get rid of the static cling on those plastic funnels.

FWIW I also broke down and ordered caliber specific Saturn funnel today..

Rub them with dryer sheets.

Went to the Hardware store looking for a drop tube. Found one,
used to connect the faucet to the valve. Cheap, and works well.

Hobby shops have brass piping that could be cut to length. My 45-70 Sharps uses one that is about 20" long, and rally nice wooden stand to hold it.

I am also an archer, and one of the carbon arrow shafts that I shoot is the perfect diameter to fit .22 cal cases. Don't seem to have a problem with static. Any bow shop should be able to fix you up probably for free. Also, other shaft sizes (aluminum or carbon) may work for other calibers that you have. jd

I do agree with above statement about the drop tube being clear.

Try this out. I know of some people that have made theirs out of this stuff, you know for the extra long ones. It comes in 6' stick, shipping runs about $10 from them in San Diego California over to South Carolina. So for $21 you'll never run out of drop tube material and can share some with your friends.

Get one of the vibrating toothbrushes, Powder two cases & put your fingers over the mouth. Stick the toothbrush in between both cases, turn on toothbrush......viola. The brushes come in a two pack. Works like a champ.
