Will a Viper drop port work with the improved cartridges like the 6 Dasher and the 6 Brx.

If that is what it was made for. They are pretty much cartridge specific.

No, as far as I know they will only drop a standard 6BR case, not even the 30BR will work, unless Jerry has changed something recently. I would call him to make sure.

But if I remeber correctly Shelly sent them back to Stiller and had him machine the port larger. The port is barely large enough to pass a normal case. Unless Jerry has changed them?? I owned one of them.

For my first 30 BR Drop I asked Jerry and Curtis to make one for me. After that, they became a regular production item. But they have, so far, underestimated the demand for the BR drop. They're working hard to make more of the BR drops to fill the demand.

I don't know if a Dasher or other improved cartridge would drop through the port. I'd bet that Jerry could custom mill the port a bit longer if you asked.

Instead of asking Jerry for something that I want, I usually resort to begging right from the start. He's a real sucker for tears.

According to Jerry Stiller, the drop ports are now being cut so that they will handle a 30 Dasher. I having been shooting a new Diamondback drop-port in 30 BR and it works great. Just finished chambering a 22 Dasher barrel, so I can verify that very soon!
