drifted my front sight

Had to drift the front sight on my marlin 45-70 today. Used a brass punch and it moved easily. But now I have brass marks on the front sight from the punch. Any good method to remove these marks?

Or just leave it , it will disappear over time with normal cleaning... I run into that with pistols all the time... I used to try and get the brass off when I got home but soon learned to just wipe some slip 200 ewl on it when I wiped down the gun and it will just wear away... Don't worry to much about it...

Generally drifts are brass not copper. Hoppes does just fine taking it off a blued surface. Can't give an opinion about morning breath I will have to defer to you.
