Dremel inside neck chamfering tool

Dremel's bit no 117 makes a better chamfering tool than either the Lee or RCBS ones I have tried. The Dremel has twelve flutes and cuts very smoothly. Good for 6mm or less. You won't believe how well this works.

The cutter is tapered 20 degrees which must make a 10 degree chamfer.
The cutter tapers up to 6.4mm diameter. I have another cutter no. 124 that is 7.9mm in diameter but it is tear drop shaped. Looks like it might work for larger calipers but I haven't tried it.

Tozguy: I understand it's a different way of doing something, but how do you control the length of the cut from the case mouth edge, for 1/32" for example? And how can you keep the cutter square with the centerline of the case so you are getting an even cut around the entire circumference? Those are two reasons I've been using the K&M inside taper neck reamer for many years. The pin that goes thru the primer flash hole keeps it perfectly straight, and the 3 pins that slide in the flutes control the length of the cut, not too deep, not too shallow. I'll have to give my Dremel tool a try with the same stone. Will have to try it on some scrap brass. I'm not too good with tools that remove a lot of metal, quickly! I usually destroy "things" in the blink of an eye.

Hi Frank,
It sounds like you already have a better setup than the Dremel bit. The only other tool I have is an RCBS 45 deg. male/female do it all chamfer tool. The Dremel bit serves me better than the RCBS for chamfering inside after trimming case length. I try to keep things lined up by hand with no positive depth control. I put as little chamfer as necessary to seat boattails (Sierra 1380) without scraping. So little in fact that it is hard to see. Neck tension is only .001'' if I recall correctly. Obviously I don't use the Dremel tool itself for chamfering. The bit is mounted in a handle for this work. Please let me know what you think if you try it.
