This is an original Don Stith style stock carved by Mark Weader. Mark does business as Jack's Mountain Stock Company and carved stocks for Don for many years.
I ordered the stock with an Anschutz inlet and originaly had a local man bed it for a 1907 barrelled action. I wasn't satisfied with the pillar bedding job and took the stock to Brian Volker who rebedded it for a 1913 barrelled action.
I ordered the stock as maple with cherry wood side rails. I installed the cherry wood butt plate. It has several coats of boiled linseed oil and several coats of Tru-oil on that. It can always use more coats but I just don't have the time or energy or skill to make it look any better. The finish isn't perfect and I'm not a pro at it but I think it looks nice. The fiddleback grain shows through on a lot of it and it looks nice. The forend is 3" wide. The trigger guard is a Remington style and is mounted separate from the mounting bolts. If there's any dings in it, it's from getting moved in the safe. I never had it to the range and don't see myself needing it anymore.
I took it outside for some pics and realized it would like good with the barrelled action in it so I put it in the the last pics.
Looking for $500 Shipped.
