Dogs who do amazing things

Does anyone else have a dog who is addicted to nature documentaries? Peyton will watch animals on TV for hours. She even twitches her ears, sniffs the air, and looks behind the TV when the animals walk off screen. She points when she's outside and sees something interesting in the distance. Is this normal for a mutt? I want to see images/videos of your dogs doing amazing things.

This image was taken as she heard finches in the back yard yesterday. It isn't an amazing pic, but I'll see if I post her Frisbee skills tomorrow. She is going to be an amazing bird dog.

We can’t watch any movies with animals in it because Java will charge the TV!!! Even animated animals he charges the TV!
Must be the retriever in him that makes him go in the creek and gets rocks!
Our daughter taught Java math and it’s so funny to see the look on people’s face. You ask him what’s 2+2 and he barks 4 times.
3+2 barks 5 times. Bro in law one time said ok Java a tough one. 1-0 and Java sat there looking at him. Didn’t bark!!!!

Dogs are amazing indeed. No deception in them..for the most part. They simply do it and dare you to change it.

Had a Jack Russel named Bob that loved goose hunting shows. I have no idea why as I have never hunted geese. Geese frequently overflew our house so maybe he learned something there. He also loved to see deer hunting and would run up to the TV and stand on his back legs, front legs on the bottom of the TV and watch the show. Special dog and a great friend now gone.

When watching the varmint hunting shows, my 14 year old, blind in one eye (rattlesnake bite), overweight and arthritic blue heeler goes absolutely insane when the hosts carry back a downed coyote. It's like she is cheering them on and wishing she was there!

My daughter’s 7 year old Jack Russell does the exactly the same thing. She is also living in complete terror of our two 2-year old grandchildren while being convinced my wife’s two long-haired eunuch cats are involved in a major conspiracy to eat her food. Mercy!! She’s a mess.
My sons two Husky-German Shepherd mixes are the mirror opposite in demeanor. Those two sit by the newest granddaughters bassinet waiting for her to whimper so they can inspect everything.

Mike, I'm glad you enjoy our GWP pics, and I know what you mean about missing yours. That big galloot of mine is way to close to the end of his run, and I'm working hard at coming to grips with it. As old and rickety as he is, he has never lost his inner puppy, and sheer joy at being close to us. I'm starting to look around for future litters to get another. It is possible that God willing, we may even find a little buddy for our old guy to enjoy in his final days. jd
