Yes.... I have one of the neck thickness gages you mentioned, bought over-the-counter @ Sinclairs
( back when you could still do that ).

I realize it's not the " high-priced spread ", but the device does a commendable job.

Operation is a bit feel/technique weighted, but gage use is quickly warmed-up to.

neck thickness gage

I've had it for nealry a year now.

The gage is of robust construction, and comes w/ 2 batteries ( one for use as replacement ). Projected battery life if great.

I believe the thing will last.
