Over the past 40 years I have hunted deer with a pistol on and off. Started out with a WWII bring back Colt 1911A1 with a 200 gr lead SWC pushed by 7 grs Unique. 50 yards and under self imposed yardage and a shot to the ribcage was a dead deer. Took one with a 50 cal. CVA Mountain Pistol with 50 grs FFFG and a round ball at 30 yards. A 44 mag would have not killed any better. Have used various revolvers and t/c contender in various calibers. I saw on YouTube the CVA Optima and newer V2 version 50 cal. muzzleloader pistol and thought that is right down my path. If you have one what is your impression and what loads are you shooting? I have looked everyplace I can think of on line and NOBODY has one in stock like every other thing you seem to need. I am on the notification list one place for when they get one in.
