Do you name your favorite guns?

My late father in law had a Remington 600 he called the ugly stick. Gun was built in the 80's. Was a 308 that won a lot of local matches over the years. It was pretty ugly when i came around to see it. He shot the barrel out of it. He guessed about 6k rounds down it. He gave it to a friend that did a total make over with a new barrel. Shoots good again now.

Nnooooooo...but I've started to name my 4-wheel vehicles, i.e. my first Escape was Princes (bless her, she's gone now), second was/is Audry, and my riding lawnmower is Lester. :(

My call my first F-Class rifle, an Eliseo R1 6BR, my OPS rig, (Other People's $hit). The rifle, scope, Lab Radar, front & rear rests where all separately purchased from various members on this forum. This dude shoots like a laser!

Nope, I only name my favorite children.

However if I ever carried a derringer, I'd probably call her "Betsy" ;)

Very strange question I Know. Blame the medication. Lol.
I did. "Tater" is my Ruger Blackhawk (SA) chambered in .357 & "Miss Betsey" is my nickle plated 1911 clone chambered in .45 ACP.
Good rifles and pistols yes. I also name my cars and airplanes. Boats and ships should also be named! I believe they should always have female names. My wife gives her vechiles male names just to push my buttons! For instance her Hilander is named "Duncan" if you know you know!

I normaly only name custom target rifles and hunting rifles that just pack my freezer with meat! So I do not name every rifle or pistol.

My EDC is not named and my shotguns do not have names.

I call her TANK!
If you picked it up once you would know why!:D:D:D

The guy in the video is absolutely right nothing pisses me off more than taking someone or meeting someone at the range, and about an hour latter it sounds like when the kids were 3 years old "I wanta go home!" When I go, I stop by Publix and have the nice guy at the deli make me a 6 inch Italian sub and get a half gallon of diet sweet tea. When lunch time comes I eat and never remove my stuff from the bench. He is also right, if taking one gun to the range is fun why not six?

"Yoder" is my old pump '06
"green goblin"
"kid gun"
I also tend to call them by their barrels.
"Old Shilen"
"short lilja"
"heavy Schneider"

funniest one i know of is the "7mm Chipotle" which involves a 3 old men in a single cab truck on a trip to the Tulsa gun show. One of which had a bean burrito and the rest is best not spoken....

I've named a few but only the favorites get names.

1. Marlin .22 Mag (Maggie)
2. Custom Savage 110 in .250-3000 (Miss Elizabeth)
3. Custom Rem 700 6XC (Sexy)
4. Custom Ruger M77 MKII .243 Ackley (Lucille)
5. Taurus Judge (Dredd)
6. Rem 700 in .17 Remington Wife named it (Pringles) cause she says once you pop you can't stop.

No, I do not name my weapons because they already have names; even the ones I assemble for example Eliseo Remington 700 or GRS 300 Win Mag. The one ones I don't build already have names too like 6mm PPC Panda . Even though I don't give them special names I still bond with them anyway. I am good at bonding with inanimate objects; cars, guitars, motorcycles, bicycles, etc, etc. The only thing I ever named was an old 1948 work pickup truck my grand father gave me that I wished I still had...... Betty Sue (sadness); the one that got away.

my model 12 Winchester Trap shotty I bought with sod farm earnings
@ $1.72/ hour in 1971 when I was 13. Won a bunch of shoots and stocked the freezer from chicken shoots. It has what I call a ‘smoke choke’ tight like a rifle, just the way I like em.

I still call it - EXCALIBER

I've called one or two some names I can't repeat after missing a four legged critter. Couldn't be the shooter.

If I were to name a rifle, I'm certain I would find myself in the very same position depicted in one of my favorite scenes from "Patton" (perhaps my favorite movie of all time):

Mine gets a number, not a name. Its kind of a inside joke. Around circle track racing you may not know the drivers name but you will his number.
