Well it's T Boyer's main gunsmith and Bat Machine asked for his help in building the new Neuvo so he's no run of the mill smith. I have 2 rifles that was smithed by him and IMO he does impeccable work.I've seen work from "hall of fame gunsmiths" and not overly impressed. Take what you "hear" with a grain of salt, lol. Nothing wrong with Jewels...they are what they are. They can use a little work to make them better, but the price is attractive and still competitive. No doubt, a BIX is the ticket! I've never broken a Jewel and IMO, if one does break...im saying it's 95% user error...

Do ya think? Talk about putting oneself out on a proverbial limbIf current competitors were shooting the 22PPC short, Waldog or 220 BEGGS, rather than the 6PPC, those 22's would be winning.
Still uses Dwight mostly. Last time I talked to him, he said he was cutting way back building rifles. I'm sure after doing this stuff for over 35 years it's getting time to retire.Who is Tony's main gunsmith now? I know of several that he has used over the years.
When did he leave Wayne or was that a temp. thing?Still uses Dwight mostly.

Butch. I don't know if you saw that I wrote more in the previous thread before you asked me another question, but I talked to Dwight a couple of month's ago and he told me basically that he is cutting way back on his workload. He sounded like he was getting ready to retire in the not too distant future. I'm sure he is still using Wayne. When did he leave Wayne or was that a temp. thing?

Not for nohing but instead of extending this pissing contest folks should avail themselves of the very well done piece that Jack Neary did a while back archived @ BRC on blueprinting one. Anybody should consider the breakdown and detail procedure he outlines involving a glass plate and fine wet/dry paper and polishing the interior of sideplates and sides of levers.
It is an easy procedure, these are not particularly tough to dissmantle and reassemble and within about 10 minutes into a 30-40 minute job you will see clearly why you'd want to do this and why you'd be well advised to do it to all newer ones..........they are not exactly the same as the older ones.
Simple test.....simple procedure.
