Shooting Coyotes and Badgers when your on their land for Prairie Dogs ?

Most hate coyotes....too many free calf lunches....shoot 'em..

Badgers........they eat p/dogs while shooters are home sleeping....

Utah Badgers are 'fur bearers'.....

Depends on what the real varmint is on their land. Here on My farm, it is deer, turkeys, and ground hogs. My cattle take of their self.

I usually tell the farmer/rancher what I'm after (game wise), then ask if he has anything in particular he'd like to get rid of. If it's legal I do my best to help him out ,Ya just can't kill every Turkey/Deer that you see if ya know what I mean.

I got the legal papers as of last month, for crop damage control till the last of July for these "big game" varmints. Might ask to see if some in ya'lls are has the same control.

All up to the landowner. Where I shoot in Montana, Badgers are off limits and Coyotes are fair game.

When I have a new location to shoot, I as the owner what I may and may not shoot, they will give you a list, and then live by it.

I have had one owner ask me to shoot every X I saw, it was protected and I quietly did not see any.

All the ranches I have out here want us to leave the badgers alone, but remove all coyote/p-dogs/raccoons.
As stated above talk to the rancher or manager about them.

If its crop or hay land most of the landowners want the Badgers gone too. Those holes really tear up equipment. One place I shoot in NV wants the coyotes and birds left alone everything else is fair game. So you have to ask..

As a landowner who lets varminters access to my property, I appreciate honesty.

They come to shoot coyotes, and snag a groundhog or bobcat without telling me that is what they would take, I do not take a good view on that and will turn them away next time. I generally make it known that coyotes are ok but nothing else. the other small and large mammals I have no problem with and prefer they be left alone. Please save the bears and the deers for me thank you.

Quite frankly, it is a question of trust and honesty.

There's a very simple solution, ask the landowner when you first arrive. His property, his rules.

Most of all........don't shoot in the direction of irrigation equipment.....

On smaller ranches..always a good idea to know where the owners are..

Regardless of what I'm hunting with permission, I always include feral cats on a don't ask/don't tell basis.
