DIY Co-axial Shooting T-REST

It appears that it won't work on a diagonal if I've looked at it correctly. It appears that you need to make a Y adjustment and then an X adjustment or vice versa. Am I reading it wrong?

There is no diagonal axis, I’m not sure it’s possible in the same assembly and at the same time having controlled movement along the X and Y axes, as far as I know. If you push the handle in the diagonal direction, you will get the movement of these two axes (X & Y) at the same time (virtual diagonal movement) and you will get the "corner" ..., the same movements as on CNC machines

So its more like a bi-axial instead of a coaxial?

As a matter of fact it is a Co-axial (Joystick) Front Rest thanks to two spherical plain bearings that drive the two sliding surfaces inside the assembly and control their movement among the X and Y axes on ball linear bearings...thus among other things allowing motion of Rest Top in multiple directions at the same time...

I am the blind man. I see the 2 spherical bearings now.

For clarity, I believe you are saying that the rest moves in both directions at once when you move the joystick diagonally. Functionally different than typical co-ax style rests but that it moves in any and all directions, like a typical co-ax.... in use. Correct?

No Mike, it works and moves like a typical coax. I didn't see it initially.

Functionally and constructively it is the same or similar to the typical style of Co-axial (Joystick) shooting rests in use.
They are all based on two spherical plain bearings through which the control handle passes, which in this 2D motion system allows multidirectional movement of the rest top at the same time...That is the essence of Co-Axial mechanism.

Linear bearings just allow fine controlled movement of each X Y axis but are not necessary. Instead of them it can be the same as on older front rests where linear motion is provided by diferent tipe of slot sliders.
