DIY Camo Dip Kits for Guns

What is everyones take on these camo dipping kits?

I don't know much about that but when I was a kid about 7 or 8 we had a kit where you put liquid paint on top of water, must have been oil based as it floated on top of the water. You could put different colors on top of the water then used a rod or brush to mix the different colors into different patterns.
Then you immersed the item. I remember the item at the time was a vase. As you immersed it, it would coat the vase the same way and after you removed you would let it dry. I don't remember using a sealer.... it was over 50 years ago. I know that it didn't cost $99.00 but you could do the same thing on a firearm with camo colors and probably get close to the intended effect for a couple of dollars. Doesn't look like rocket science to me.

I like the multicam dip kits they have now.

They work as advertised but make sure to spray the clear semi gloss over it for protection. The dip kit I bought has enough wrap to do several guns or stocks. Use in a well vented area as the release agent is pretty obnoxious. Look on youtube as there are a thousand videos.

I saw some pictures a friend took at Ko2M this summer. A competitor had a bolt rifle coated/dipped in Kryptek Highlander pattern.
That is what I would like to do with my Remmy 700.
