DIY Bipod Questions

I'm working on building an F Class style bipod. My rifle has an Anschutz rail on it. My predicament is how to attach the bipod to the rail? It doesn't necessarily have to be a quick disconnect. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Adam

Many of the small bore match rifle accessories utilize an elongated rail 'trundle' inside the rail that is threaded and screwed to what ever accessory is under the forearm (hand stop, mini bi-pod, etc.). Look at Anschutz hand stops and you will see what I mean. More simply though are the rail bi-pod adapters that Sinclair makes and offers. You end up with a conventional swivel stud attached to the rail.

If the tripod has any length of "rail" (above the leg pivots/joints) I've seen the use of 1/4 X 20 steel T-nuts.

The T-nuts are filed/ground in a manner where they fit the Anschütz rail and are tightened by allen screws thru the "rail" atop the bipod legs.

Ensure the screws are "just long enough" to enter the barrel thread section of the T-nut and NOT so long they tighten into the Anschütz rail.

PIX/sketch avail.
