Disappointed in MDT service

I ordered a chassis last week. Doesn't say anything about being backordered or delayed and their shipping page says
"Your order is processed and packed for shipping as quickly as possible by our amazing order fulfillment staff. Depending on the items in your order or the volume of orders this could take one to two days. "

After a week of nothing from them I wrote for an update and received the following, "current ETA is 1 - 3 weeks"

"1-3 weeks" is a big dam difference than "one to two days"

Pretty disappointed in this kind of customer service and may take my business somewhere else simply on principle.

With MDT's business, your lucky it's not 1-3 months'. 1-3 weeks is
pretty reasonable. Which stock did you order ??

Delays are a bummer. If it's for an Elite chassis, I'm not too surprised.

All of my MDT orders have been fulfilled quickly and they've always taken care of issues. I'm trying to get an AW mag working with my Ruckus and they're sending me some other mag latches to try.

Whatever happened to,
Say what you do, then
Do what you say.
I have little patience with businesses or individuals that tell me one thing, then do something completely different.

Amazon shopper syndrome is real.

Do any of you old farts remember saving cereal box tops to mail in for a hot wheels car?
It took months to get enough tops, then you had to put them in an envelope and snail mail them to a collection center. There, they would be counted, logged in and your name would go on a list for shipment.
That took like a week or more.
Then, on top of that, shipping would take 4-6 more weeks.

Amazon ruined people's ability to have a little patience.

I understand your frustration. If MDT is 1-3 weeks I would definitely do this next time. My first XLR Envy took 5 months, my Envy Pro took over 4 months. Chassis manufacturers are usually held up by the anodizing or cerakoting process rather than the machining, as most of it is supply limited and performed by a third party.

If MDT said 1- 2 days and changed the order to 1-3 weeks, that is a big error on their part, but logistics are still a mess these days so I wouldn't totally abandon them over this.

I remember being a teenager buying a model kit out of a magazine at the beginning of summer. It said 4-6 weeks and I had to give my mom cash so she could write a check and mail it. It ended up taking 9 weeks.

Remember selling Cloverine salve to win prizes?

I grew up in a place where everything was mail order and came by barge. No one could afford air freight. 6-8 weeks was usually the minimum.

MDT. It's not the duration I have a problem with. It's the inconsistency of their "communications". If a product is 2-4 weeks out from time of order tell the customer up front. I should check if they charged my card...

MDT's service is usually superb. If their site said 1-2 days (and still does) and now says 1-3 weeks, you should contact them about that specific point and bring up the discrepancy. Otherwise it would have made sense to just order from a dealer.

I did contact them via email and the 1-3 weeks was the reply from Anthony B.

I will ask some dealers if they have what I want in stock. I suspect that many operate just like our business, but I could be wrong. We take orders and the products are drop shipped from the manufacturer.
