Dimmer Switch

that's the only kinda roads we got around here. old storied, love 'em.
As long as the traffic is commensurate with the size, you're lucky. Me? I get on a ten lane Interstate to go to Cabela's. Takes me about ten minutes to get there. The two lane alternatives would take me a half an hour.
YMMV, pun intended. :D:p

Just as bad as the bright lights are all the fog lights that everybody just has to have on. Most of them are super bright and shine up into on coming traffic. Not needed and sometimes worse than the brights. I wish they would do away with them. In the fog they just make more glare and don't cut through the fog anyway.

The flip side are the people that don't put their head lights on at night at all because they feel that the daytime driving lights are sufficient. Of course, if I was to list all my driving pet peeves...... People just drive like s*** nowadays.

A couple of points come to mind on this subject....A lot of kids, these days, lower the back end of trucks. Why, I have no clue..looks stupid. Evidence of how stupid, is that they often don't re-aim their headlights after drastically dropping the rear end.

Another thing is, cheap replacement headlight assemblies often do not have the same reflectors inside. Some oe assemblies have reflectors that move when switched between hi and low beam.

That said, some newer vehicles have automatic dimming. They work great.

I think lights are much brighter on new cars, sometimes leading to confusion as to whether brights are on or not. I have been flashed while my brights were off and have mistakenly flashed people whose brights were off.
Wait until you start developing cataracts. They make night driving quite an experience.

The lights don't bother me nearly as much as the inattentive people texting while driving. I swear they are worse than drunks. Texting and driving needs to be cracked down on. Enforce the law and make the fine hurt enough to discourage the behavior.

Great post. I was thinking it was just me. This, I believe, is a combination of more people on the road, new technology headlights, and selfish behavior. I drive a very busy highway in a sports car and deal with this ALL the time. Man, I miss my pickup.
