Dima vs Cerus stocks

I'll take the Cerus as I do own one and have gotten behind a Dima which one of my friends owns. I'd love another Cerus or two but getting a hold of Will from Australia is almost impossible.

Purely based on aesthetics the Cerus leaves everything for dead. The same as Willow they are very hard to get hold of in the UK and pretty pricey when they do.
It's a pity Dima doesn't have access to the same timber as Cerus.
Possibly Cerus has had more time to perfect the form and function of their stocks, I particularly like the high sides of the forend on the Cerus to help tracking and recoil when using front bags with F Open rifles.

I dont have either nor have I got behind either. However, I put my name in with Will (Cerus) for a stock about 13 months ago. Spoke on the phone and was told 6 month lead time. At 6 month point I was told 8 months. Tried contacting him multiple times after the 8 month with no luck. Gave up and bought a McMillian stock.

Hopefully you will have better luck if you do decide to go with Cerus! They are a work of art!

I tried to contact Cerus In December via phone and email. No response as yet.

Emailed Arth at Dima yesterday. Responded in an hour. My additional emailed questions were answered like I was in a chat, ordered last evening. Projected delivery 2 months, assuming Putin doesn’t disrupt things.

Jim Borden is now using them for his guns, but all the ones he has in stock are inleted for his actions with the wide tang, which didn’t help me.

Yeah, I think Will is quite selective on the work he's choosing to do. Whilst I was fortunate to get one stock out of him, I don't like my chances of getting a second - messages disappear into the ether, which is not great, but I guess he can afford to do so.

It's not the end of the world though, there are plenty of good options out there with Dima, McMillan and X-Ring stocks. The X-Ring stocks look interesting and are being used by some top shooters - again, that's a product we don't have in Australia and it's always nice to have something that's a bit more exclusive.

I know a number of the top shooters are shooting Cerus stocks. They are nice, and they are pretty. Whether it’s a Kelbly, an XiT, a Cerus, a Dima, a Pierce (which looks a lot like a BR paddle), an old PR&T, a Chassis (Jade won FCNC with one), or something custom whittled the stocks don’t make much difference. Personally I’d shoot almost any of the above.

The Dima’s are kinda new to the scene. I found out Last week Jim Borden was using them for his builds from one of the guys on the team. I called looking for a stock and found out all of his are inletted for the Rimrock Actions, so it didn’t help me.

The PR&T stock is nice.. I tried conning Jade out of his but he told me it’s the only stock he wouldn’t sell.. so I bought Russell’s:cool:

I can say with out question, Will with Cerus takes "back seat" to know other stock offerings when it comes to perfection when he produces stocks they really are finely produced stocks and they really do perform at a top level.

I can tell you personally that Dima stocks are a work of art. He takes pride in everything he makes. I have no experience with others
Jerry can you tell me the height of the forearm of a dima f class stock? Where it engages the front rest. I’d like to know if it is the same height as a cerus. My old McMillan was very short by comparison and it allowed the forearm to twist on 284. I need another stock now but don’t want to wait a year for a cerus even though I like mine
