Over the years I have called to order a few small wear parts for either my 450 or 550 in one case it was a locator button that I had lost. In every case the part was supplied at no cost to my surprise.
Several months ago I purchased a very early Square Deal from the estate of a long time shooting companion. It had sat idle for 10 years and had been used extensively. A couple weeks ago I called Dillon with a lengthy list of parts I wanted to purchase to put the press back in service.
As I was going thru the list with the service rep he suggested that I just box it up and send it to them. He told me that for $86 they would rebuild it and install any upgrades that have become standard and return it to me which would be far less than the parts would cost. I was given a return authorization number and sent it to Dillon.
This afternoon, what is for all intents and purpose, a "new" square deal was delivered to my address. 23 parts were installed including two brand new powder measures with the fail safe upgrade (the old measures had glued in reservoirs which were cracked), a new priming mechanism complete with low primer alert was installed and the new style operating lever was installed. All of the worn bushings and guides were renewed.
Needless to say, I am quite pleased and impressed with Dillon's customer service and hope the "No BS" customer service policy Mike Dillon established stays in place in the years to come.
