I have the same scale. When I contacted Dillon they sent me a manual for an Ohaus scale. Mine still does what yours does. Considering the rather low cost of the scale when I got it, I'd consider it a garage sale item and buy a new one. I would think any of the new beam scales offered today would be better than the Dillon. I'm using a V4 and FX120i but I am also not trying to spend that much of your money either.

Check to make sure the knife edges are sharp. Then make sure when using it the beam is centered in the agates. I use a needle (as sort of a feeler gauge) to slide in the opening from the top to ensure the pivot point is centered in the agates.
If I was shooting matches I’d spend the money on something like what you have. The guy I bought it from offered a full refund. Can’t complain about that.
