Dillon 750 setup help

Setting up my 750 for the first time. The case feeder doesn’t seem to attach to the stem properly (holes don’t line up). See pic for details.

Can someone send me a pic of what theirs looks like?

Are these two holes supposed to line up?

I dont think the holes are supposed to line up. Put the casefeeder on and let it stop where it wants to. See if the clear drop tube is the proper length.

If it is, put the set screw in and call it a win.

It looks like there is a threaded insert on the polymer case feeding hopper. I would call Dillon.

Here is a picture of my setup. It's an XL650 but very similar. Mine is offset a little so that the drop tube is vertical. I've had no problem with this setup. I would just drop it on until it stops, align the drop tube, and tighten the set screw.

The hole you see drilled into the vertical stem is for use when you don't have a case feeder attached. It has a crossbar that has a clip that attaches to the drop tube to hold it in place & a bolt holds the crossbar.

When you attach the case feeder itself, the crossbar is not needed & deleted unless you want to take the time to install it all. It is all about supporting the drop tube.

The set screw locks the bowl in place after the drop tube is vertical & the case feed mechanism is correctly positioned.

Just don't overtighten the set screw. It is possible to pull the threaded brass insert out by overtightening the screw. If this occurs, contact Dillon. We have an oversized brass insert to go into the hole.

Read your instructions and look at the setup diagram. That is a spot for a set-screw that merely takes up slack. That hole you see in the black tube is for a different configuration.

Thanks
