Dillon 750 powder die set up...

Been reloading on co-ax with some success for 4 years, new Dillon owner....

Setting my powder die to adequately bell cases for 45 ACP....screwed die down until I got .007” flaring, bullet sits nicely in case (manual says flare .010”)...at this setting, charge bar arm touches powder body when operating handle is barely below horizontal....manual says it should just touch at bottom of stroke...turning die up to decrease over travel of charge bar arm will only decrease flaring of the mouth...my flared cases measure .476...can’t figure out how to get proper travel of charge bar arm and adequate mouth flaring at same time...thanks

I have a 650 and just sitting here at the computer I believe that my operating handle is just slightly below horizontal when the powder charge bar has reached it's full stroke. It has been this way for the near 30 years I have owned the reloader, has never been a problem. I wouldn't worry about it in the least. Sometime today (busy day scheduled) I'll make it out to the shop and check exactly how close to full stroke I'm on when the charge bar hits the powder body and report my findings back here.

Attached you can see both the operating handle, the charge bar at full stroke. The angle is a little bad and it makes the handle look lower than it actually is but this has worked successfully for me for many years. I bell .45ACP cases about 0.006" so it is a little less than yours. Again I wouldn't worry in the least about it.
