I recently started running a Dillon 1050 Super with a Ponsness Warren auto drive. I've processed/loaded about 10k of 223 and 20 VT.
I'm having some unresolved issues hopefully someone can help with.
1. When running the PW auto-drive I cannot get head space to be consistent....it is varying .005+/- from the target. Brass is highly annealed and well lubed.
When using the manual handle HS only varies .0015+/- from the target....good enough for PDn. I have tried all adjustments on the PW drive to no avail. PW staff said to increase clutch torque to 115+ inch pounds and make sure there is solid click on the bottom cam which I did....no help.
After setting the adjustments rolling the PW linkage arm manually and getting solid click on the bottom cam, the cam only touches on about half the cases when the auto drive is engaged. I'm afraid to make it hit harder with the clutch set so tight for fear of breakage.
I've resorted to running manually and only using the auto-drive for decapping and swaging.
2. On my last run, manually with the handle, loading 1500 223s 81 primers turned out like this....unusable....will tear down tomorrow. They are Rem 71/2 BRs a change from CCI400s and F205s I've used previously.
This was range brass so various head stamps. I set for heavy swage just prior to this run for LC brass so may be swage variance by head stamp....but I doubt it. The remaining 1400+ seated perfectly.
Any advice, comments or suggestions from those with 1050S and/or PW experience would be welcomed.
