Different width Talley scope rings for Talley bases?

I suppose this is what I get for assuming….

I have a new Cooper model 22 with Talley bases; simple so far. I decide some nice Tally QD rings would be nice…so done.
Get the rings and; the bases measure .5” max width while the rings with the clamp tightened measure pretty close to .65”, for a difference of approximately .125”

I was unaware Talley made different widths, worse, I don’t which is atypical; the base width or the ring width.

Any help is appreciated.

You might want to contact Talley to get the real answer. That is what I would do before asking us.

I have made a number of custom bases for Talley rings and they have all been a 1/2" dovetail width.
