Different front bags for Seb Mini

Hi,

I am not impressed by the front bag that comes with my Seb Mini. After filling it does not sit fully in. May be too much sand?

Anyways is there a better 3" one out there? I found Edgewood which is a bit expensive. Are there other good ones?

Also is there any good front bag for tactical or hunting rifle? I also use the Seb Mini and protektor rear bag during load development.and just shooting group (When I go out or practice I use bipod and squeeze rear bag) . The 3" bag is a bit too wide for a hunting rifle so it will tilt left or right. I was thinking about a v shaped front bag. Is there one out there?

Thanks for any leads. I did do some Google research without much good result. I did buy a 3" picatinny front bag rider from urbanrifleman here which should do well with tactical rifles but still need something for hunting rifles.

Thanks for reading the long thread I hope to explain my reason clearly.

The F Class bag, the one with a 'V' or dip in the middle, is a huge improvement over the original mini bag. Contact Ernie he has them.

The top is about 1/4" too narrow front to rear and 1/2" from side to side. I have one here that I'm going to build a new top for, so that it will accept standard bags. Simple enough job to do. It's just the bottom plate and the two ears that tighten against the bags.

I bought a Blake Machine top off this site and I love it. I shoot some wide fore ends but the majority is sporter stocks. The one I got from Kevin is infinitely adjustable. Perfect for my needs and if you buy one I don't think you'll be disappointed.
As I said I bought mine used so I really don't know if the bag came with it but it is perfect for me.

How do I find him in this site?

Just put in Blake Machine on any server and you'll find it. You're right about price Dusty but I just bought my mini from Bruno's and, I know they're fine people and you personally along with many others have shored them here but I called them 3 different times. Talked to the gal twice and the son once with no satisfaction.
Never did get to talk to Lester though. Then I ran across the Blake top here and it looked like what I had in mind. Had Kevin call me and he even made it sound better, His words were It'll go down to nothing and lock down.
That bag in my opinion that comes (UNFILLED) is a POS and I feel that Bruno's missed out on a sale and some profit. All I wanted to do was get something that would work for me and was more than willing to pay for it, but it fell on deaf ears. Gary

I agree with Dusty about the price of the mini with the Blake parts. However, I have shot as well or better, particularly from the ground, with my Blake equipped mini as I have with my Max and Neo. As I age, I’ve come to appreciate the compactness, portability, and lack of weight of the mini. Will it make you a champion shooter, nope, that’s up the shooter. I have no financial interests in Blake Machine.

I think with the extra price and weight of the Blake add-ons it will push you up into the used Farley F-Class rest range (I sold mine when I got the Mini). I use the box stock Mini (with one simple addition) and have no complaints. Pic of my mod below. It creates a void in the middle of the bag so that the fore end runners make positive contact with the bag.fullsizeoutput_86b.jpeg

don't understand what you did, can you explain it in more detail?

A stock SEB Mini sure didn't slow @Jay Christopherson down at the SWN's.

Thanks Norm. :-) It's seen some mileage, that's for sure. It could probably do with some TLC, the front bag keeps falling off every time I pick up the rest. I just added some velcro to hold it on, so hopefully that fixes it. I lost it in the parking lot at one point and was freaking out a bit.

I really do like (and use) the newer bag that Seb sells, with the seam down the middle.
