Different barrel groove vs BC

I was just thinking the other day about the different amount of grooves that people shoot and BC.

Has anyone ever tested to see of or how different amount of grooves may affect BC? My initial thinking was that maybe a barrel with more grooves would reduce a bullets BC because of the extra surface area created on the jacket of the bullet.

Now maybe that isn’t even the case because my math prowess is less than amazing. I’ll be interested in seeing some comments.
