Difference on target sorted bullets

What difference on target do you see with sorted bullets? Do the longer or shorter ones group better? Here's 1000 Berger 6mm 105gr sorted into nine groups. Actually 999 bullets...see the 1000th bullet in picture below. They measure from a -.004" to +.004". These were measured with a Mark King comparator. I weird note/ observation...the boxes with the little note stickers in the box measured within .002" out of the entire 100 box !! I had 3 of these in this batch of 10 boxes.




Think Berger will replace it ???? Hopefully with a whole box of same lot...Ha Ha Ha !!! Never have I ever just got a cup in a box. anyone else get one of these?

rmist (Boy you keep things neat!) Never found one of those in a box of bullets, maybe they are trying to get you started in making your own. Looks like what you have that are only .002 off are good to go, all I do is make sure there all the same length and same lot#. This has been talked about quite a bit, The big difference will be seating depth if they are way off from each other, so you have got to find which ones your rifle likes then keep hoping when you get another lot # that there all the same again. Have fun.

Even if you got small gain, you are weeding out those flyers.. I like your setup, keep notes and let your work answer your question.

I would suggest you test a group from the two extremes. Some of these differences in the sort are much better than what it takes to make a downrange difference, but only testing will tell.

How much if any weight difference would you say you had in the two extreme batches? There may not be a distinct correlation between the dimensions in the sort and the weights.

Didn't get a cup, but this is supposed to be a Sierra 190 MK Moly. You got just jacket, I didn't get enough jacket. How would this one sort?
