Difference in Redding Steel and TN bushings?

When I was selecting bushings for my Redding dies I wondered what advantage there might be to titanium when compared to steel. Both types are made of Rc 60-62 heat treated steel and polished. The only difference I've been able to identify is that the Titanium variety have a surface treatment of Titanium Nitride which is supposed to increase the surface hardness and reduce friction. I figured Rc 60-20 was plenty hard enough for shaping brass and I use other methods for lubrication to reduce friction.
One tool company report I read said that Titanium coatings are microscopically thin but will not rub off of good tooling. They express the opinion that it is debatable whether the extra cost is worthwhile outside a production environment where downtime for tool changes gets expensive.
Therefore, I use the steel version.

I used to buy the TiN version. But I had problems with the bushings over sizing the necks, and also leaving them badly scratched.

Now I buy the steel ones, and re-shape the mouths and re-polish them.
