Yeah had that happen at a match a few years ago. FTR guy was ecstatic he shot a 200-20X @ 600. Wanted a screen shot. I looked and the group was 1/8 moa high and 1/2 moa wide… I knew instantly what was wrong. I took a photo of the setup and gave it to the MD and the guy was pissed I was lobbying to have the score thrown out… the MD sent the score in anyway. Oh well. Wasn’t a registered match so no records to be set.I'm pretty sure my main club did this in the early days of their adopting SM targets. It produces a shallow horizontal oblong view of the target, right? We shot an entire F/TR relay before somebody twigged there was an issue with one of the targets. Up to that point, everyone was saying: "Wow! Those are fantastic elevations, shame about the wind-reading!"
