Dies for 284 shehane

Is there enough clearance to use standard 284 win dies for neck sizing and bullet seating? --Jerry

Thanks Erik, That's what I thought.

Thanks bsumoba, that's what I'm leaning toward.

Another option is to use a Whidden F/L sizing die and a Wilson seater die. It you use a Wilson, buy a. .284 Winchester die and have it reamed with same reamer as chamber.

Exactly the setup that I have. Works great.

thanks guys. Any recommendations for a fireforming load? --Jerry

I fireform with 54.2 H4831SC under a 162 Amax jumped .010. My rifle was chambered for 180's. Velocity is in the mid 27's and that load has shot some 198 and 199's in 600 yard F-Class but always seems to throw a flier or two.

I use a mid-range 284 Winchester hunting load. IMR 4350, Winchester primers, Sierra 160 gr Spitzer BT. I picked them all up second hand for a good price.

I use them for hunting and foulers. I'm quite happy.

My Shehane die reamer was smaller than my chamber reamer. Then it sizes the body also. Bob Green made FL with neck bushing sizer.
