Die honing and Velocity.

Hello everyone. I was wondering-after having a FL die honed to your fired rifle case would you lose any Velocity? My die was sizing down about .025 at neck and shoulder juction and now its resizing about .005 and was wondering can that change Velocity.
Thanks

Sounds like you had the neck honed out on your die to reduce the amount of neck sizing that was happening. Basically the same thing that users of Redding S type bushing dies do to reduce over working the brass. Neck tension on bullets can change velocity I'm just not sure how much. I'm sure someone on here has played with it. You might even try searching "Neck Tension".
