Diamonds anyone?

Guys,

I recently got a request for some aggressive diamond fluting. I think this qualifies. As always, thanks for checking it out.

Best regards,
Paul

I bet the pics do not do it justice...like to see it in person...looks great!

I like it. I make a traverse cam with a 4th axis that looks similar with the cross overs. The turnarounds in it's case are a parabola though. I ended up dropping a smaller endmill in at each crossover and radiusing the sharp edges.

Deburring that thing looks fun but it sure looks nice.

It sure is pretty but could there possibly be any advantage in this sort of fluting? I can't imagine what it might be. It seems to me that the metal in the diamonds now do nothing but add weight (and prettiness, of course).

I agree,it seems like the barrel is now reduced to the measurement from the depth (dia) at the bottom of the flutes. It sure looks pretty though. Tom

While I greatly admire Paul's quality craftsmanship, the looks of that barrel does absolutely nothing for me. Call me crazy.

You are not crazy. It is just a matter of personal taste. It is not my favorite either. Just another option. ;D

When you have a fine looking rig thats a little different than the rest it may distract the other shooters enough to give ya that edge.........

Hello Paul, that's a great piece of work you've done there. I will give you a call later to see about fluting a bolt off my Predator action. What's typical turn around time this time of year!

The face of my Predator bolt is square, I wanted to know if this can be cut into a coned face. This action has never been barreled as of yet.

Looking on barreling same in a 6x47. I've got a 1.25" OD straight 30" SS barrel, 1:8 TW. Do you do any cambering as well!

Best Regards
