Dewey Jags

Hi all, glad to join your forum, have lurked for some time and enjoy the site.

I read the article in the blog which mentioned that
Dewey jags with the knarled rings may damage the barrel or crown. I've got dewey rods and have been using that jag. Can anyone recommend a good alternative, which will work with the Dewey rod? The rod has a 12/28 male thread. I'd like to keep using the rod as its a good product.

Are you using the brush adapter for 8/32 male thread jags? Their site doesn't clearly say what the threading is on the brush's or adapters. They do list:

Part 30A - 8/32 male to 12/28 male - allows 8/32 female rod to use Dewey 27 - 50 Jags

But the I interpret this that part wouldn't work for a 12/28 male rod.
