Patches/Jags

Just wondering ,out loud, which cleaning rod jags you fellows are using.. I prefer the K.I.S.S. method I try to keep one patch size to keep it simple when buying patches.
I have been using "Old" Parker Hale rods (22 Cal) with 1 3/4' patch wrapped around the jag for 22 and "Speared" for 6MM.
My 17 Cal is cleaned with a Dewey Rod (17 Cal) with a 1 3/4" patch cut in Quarters and cut in half for 20 Cal both "Speared"

Thanx,
Jim

You can do it that way, but I simply buy a bag of patches for each caliber I shoot and keep them in the range box (or in a labeled drawer at my bench). I like the Sinclair patches, but I am sure there are lots of good ones.

I've been using the same .22 Parker-Hale rod for thirty years, and it is still true and the coating is still intact (that rod case was a good investment which I have since bought for all of my other long cleaning rods too). I also use a Dewey for big-bore calibers, and a "naked" Dewey for .17, and have a couple of their pistol rods too.

I'm also quite sold on bore snakes, but I still carry the long rods to the range or varmint hunts just in case...
